About Us
Flossie Allinson –
Owner of Dog-Trotters
Dog Trotters was founded by Flossie Allinson, one of Godalming’s original professional dog walkers. Passionate about her job, for over 20 years she has been out in the woods providing dogs with the exercise, fun and social time they need to thrive.
Flossie remains hands-on and leads the Dog Trotters team locally, walking dogs every day with her co-pilot Wilson, her Welsh Sheepdog, and maintaining the personal, attentive service the business was built on. Dog Trotters has earned a long-standing reputation for being reliable, trustworthy and genuinely devoted to the dogs in our care.
We prioritise safety, wellbeing and happiness above all else. Every dog is treated as an individual, and we work closely with owners to make sure each walk is right for their dog’s personality, energy level and needs. We’re proud to build lasting relationships with both our canine clients and their humans.
We also maintain strong relationships within the local dog-walking community. If we’re ever unable to help, we’re happy to recommend trusted professionals, and we can often arrange reliable cover when needed.
Dog Trotters is supported by a wealth of glowing testimonials from past and present clients. You can read more on our Testimonials page, or feel free to get in touch with any questions – we aim to respond to all enquiries within 24 hours.
Jess Twitchin –
Dog-Trotters Brighton
Jess Twitchin has been part of Dog Trotters for over six years. She previously ran the Brighton branch independently before moving to Surrey to help support the growing demand for walks in the Godalming area. Her support means we can welcome more dogs while still keeping the same personal, reliable service Dog Trotters is known for.
Before joining Dog Trotters, Jess spent many years working in nannying and childcare, which helped shape her calm, patient and practical approach. She’s confident handling a wide range of dogs and is a steady, reassuring presence on walks, providing consistent, attentive care for every dog in her group.
Both Jess and Flossie share a genuine love of the countryside and spend much of their time outdoors beyond work as keen birdwatchers and nature enthusiasts. Our walks take place in woodland, heathland and open countryside, and we’re always aware of the changing seasons, local wildlife and the birds that share our routes. We work in line with the Countryside Code and are mindful of sensitive areas such as ground-nesting birds and livestock, ensuring our walks have minimal impact on the environment while still giving the dogs the freedom and enrichment they need.
Regardless of the season or the weather, we’re out there; dogs need proper exercise all year round, not just when the sun is shining, and we pride ourselves on providing consistent, reliable walks whatever the weather.
Rose Fairhurst
Rose brings valuable hands-on experience to Dog Trotters, having spent two years working in a busy veterinary practice where she cared for animals and supported their health and wellbeing in a clinical environment. Working alongside veterinary professionals gave her experience with dogs of all ages, temperaments and medical needs, helping her develop a calm, compassionate and knowledgeable approach.
She is currently studying a full-time, two-year Animal Behaviour course, where she is expanding her knowledge of canine psychology, welfare and enrichment. Passionate about helping animals thrive, Rose believes that both physical exercise and mental stimulation are key to a happy, confident dog.
Outside of her studies, Rose has grown up surrounded by animals, with dogs always being a huge part of family life, and is also a keen horse rider. She is delighted to be joining the Dog Trotters team and is excited to contribute to the continued growth of the business while getting to know all of our wonderful four-legged clients.
Vinnie –
Head of Transport
Many of you will recognise Vinnie, our beloved Dalmatian-spotted van. Vinnie is fully fitted with secure crates to ensure every dog travels safely. We’ve also installed additional windows and a roof vent to provide proper ventilation during the warmer summer months, helping the dogs stay comfortable throughout the day.
Travel with Dog Trotters isn’t just about safety – it’s about comfort too. Each crate is set up with cosy bedding, and some have their own little privacy curtains for dogs who prefer a quieter, more enclosed space while travelling.
We also understand that not every dog feels comfortable in a crate straight away. For this reason, Vinnie includes two open sections which allow certain dogs a little more space while still travelling safely and securely. And of course, if your dog needs a little extra time to get used to travelling in the van, just let us know; we’re always happy to allow them time to settle in and get used to their new surroundings at their own pace.
